17-year-old Chinese teenager dies in attic of rental house, 53 year old compatriot surrenders, saying 'he used drugs for filming'

On October 15, 2026, a shooting occurred in the attic of a rented house on Marini Road on Tuesday, October 13. A Chinese teenager under the age of 18 was shot and killed by his fellow countrymen.

According to the local media "National News", the police have confirmed the identity of the deceased. The murdered teenager was only 17 years old, with legal residency status, and had been living with his family all along. What puzzled the police was why this teenager, who had a very regular lifestyle, stayed in this attic with a 53 year old Chinese man that morning.

The 53 year old suspect is illegally residing and has a previous record of drug crimes. After the incident, he went to the police station and surrendered himself, admitting that he had killed someone. When asked, he said he was on drugs at the time and repeatedly asked the boy not to take pictures of him, but the boy didn't listen. He impulsively fired two shots at the boy.

However, the investigators of the criminal investigation team coordinated by Deputy Prosecutor Alessia Raplaka stated that the suspect's current motive for the crime cannot be fully believed.

The investigation shows that after the suspect shot and killed the teenager, in order to destroy evidence, he also set fire to some luggage in the attic and ran away. On the way to escape, he threw the 7.65mm caliber handgun used in the crime into a glass recycling bin on the roadside. The police later found the weapon in the recycling bin based on clues.

At present, the police are making every effort to investigate the legal source of this 7.65mm handgun, and are also investigating how the illegal resident man obtained the weapon.

In addition, a few hours before the incident, there was a serious fire at the Mondo Market supermarket on Marx Road, which was likely caused by arson. The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine if there is a connection between this murder case and the previous supermarket fire.
