Attention smokers! Italian tobacco prices have risen again, with these brands costing 0.2 euros per pack
Starting from October 14th, Italy has increased the prices of 13 tobacco products and 14 heated non combustible tobacco bombs. This price adjustment was officially announced by the Italian Customs and Monopoly Authority (ADM).
Among the tobacco products that have increased in price, the main ones are chopped tobacco, two types of cigars, and heated non combustible cartridges suitable for brands such as Pulze. Both the tobacco used in cigarettes and the heating cartridges have been uniformly increased by 20 euro cents, which is 0.2 euros.
The latest price list released by the Customs and Monopoly Bureau has taken effect in major tobacco specialty stores, which includes specific brands and tobacco varieties for all price adjustments.
In fact, since entering 2026, Italian tobacco prices have risen several times, and this trend will continue until 2027. Tobacco prices have been fluctuating frequently this year, mainly due to the government's increase in consumption tax on tobacco products. The tax rate is gradually increasing, and many smokers have clearly felt that cigarette packs have become more expensive.
According to the technical report of the 2026 budget, the price of traditional cigarettes will continue to rise. It is expected that the average price per pack will increase by 15 euro cents in 2026, and by 2027, the average price per pack of traditional cigarettes may increase by around 25 euro cents.
Of course, not all brands of cigarettes have the same price increase. The specific price adjustment is still up to each major brand to decide, and the official price list released by the customs and monopoly bureau shall prevail. According to the current fiscal plan, this wave of tax increases will continue until 2028, when the average price per pack of cigarettes may increase by 40 euro cents.
