Prato attic corpse hiding case solved! Compatriots were filmed for drug use, shot and killed, and set fire to destroy their tracks
On Tuesday afternoon, October 13th, a murder occurred on Marini Road in the zero zone of Prato, Italy. The police found a male corpse in the attic on the top floor of an apartment building, and the deceased was of Chinese nationality. This attic is likely to be a makeshift dormitory for Asian workers on a regular basis.
At that time, a sudden fire broke out in the house, and a woman screamed and ran out of the apartment with several other Chinese people. Firefighters arrived around noon and, while extinguishing the fire, accidentally discovered bodies in the attic.
According to the preliminary investigation by the Prato Criminal Investigation Team, the victim was first shot and then set on fire. The perpetrator wants to use this method to cover up the crime.
At present, a Chinese man who is illegally residing in Italy has surrendered to the police station and admitted to the crime. He confessed the incident accompanied by his lawyer, and the police also found the firearm at the crime scene.
Speaking of motive, the suspect said it was because the deceased secretly filmed him with his phone while he was taking drugs. He warned his compatriots not to shoot again, otherwise he would shoot, but the other party ignored him, so he fired.
It should be noted that on the night before the attic murder, a large fire broke out at a Chinese department store supermarket on Pratomax Road. The fire is likely caused by human arson and quickly spread throughout the entire store. This supermarket sells a lot of things, including food, small commodities, clothing, household items, stationery, personal care products, and pet supplies. The shelves and goods in the store are very dense, becoming a fuel for the fire and posing great difficulties for firefighting. The fire resulted in injuries to a 79 year old woman who was subsequently taken to San Stefano Hospital for treatment. Her injuries were classified as a yellow code, indicating moderate severity.
Currently, under the leadership of Chief Prosecutor Luca Tescaroli, the Prato Prosecutor's Office is conducting a thorough investigation into whether there is a connection between these two fires. The prosecutor is also verifying whether the suspect's claim of "killing someone while secretly filming drug use" is true or if there is another motive behind this murder case.
