A department store in Prato caught fire and burned down late at night, the reason is still unknown

On the night of October 12th, a commercial store in Prato suddenly caught fire, causing an elderly woman to be taken to the hospital and serious property damage.

According to local Italian media reports, this store is located on Via Carlo Marx in Prato, just between Via Siena and Via Zarini. Around 2am, someone called the police. After receiving the distress call, the local fire department, military police, municipal police, and 118 emergency center quickly rushed to the scene for rescue.

The property damage caused by the fire is severe. Thick smoke billowed from the scene, and the surrounding air was also very unpleasant. During the rescue, a 79 year old woman was taken by emergency personnel to Santo Stefano Hospital for treatment, and her injury was classified as a yellow code, which means moderate injury.

In order to cooperate with firefighters in extinguishing fires and emergency rescue, the police blocked the road section where the incident occurred and implemented traffic control. The municipal police are guiding passing vehicles to detour at the scene.

At present, firefighters are still on site to extinguish the fire and carry out safety measures, continuing to prevent the spread of the fire and eliminate safety hazards. The specific cause of the fire in the accident is still under investigation.
