Chinatown in Los Angeles receives corporate subsidies to strengthen cleaning, safety patrols, and cultural activities

There will be more resources for street cleaning, safety patrols, and cultural activities in Chinatown, Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Chinatown Business Council, also known as Chinatown BID, recently announced that they have received a grant from McCourt Partners for the 2026 Building Together Fund. This money will also be used to help old shops and small businesses in Chinatown. However, the announcement did not specify how much money was given.

The Chinatown Business Development Zone said that this subsidy will help them expand their current community services, such as maintaining streets, clearing graffiti, conducting public safety patrols, and organizing cultural activities. At the same time, it will also promote the characteristics of Chinatown and attract more people to come here.

George Yu, Executive Director of Chinatown Business Development Zone, expressed gratitude to McCourt Partners for their continuous support of Chinatown. This funding will enable them to expand their service scope, deepen their services, continue to organize various activities, and turn Chinatown into a culturally distinctive destination.

The Chinatown Business Development Zone has been helping local businesses, maintaining public spaces, and preserving Chinatown culture. Jeanne Lam, the head of Golden Dragon Restaurant, said that from keeping the neighborhood clean and safe every day, to organizing activities to attract tourists and promote community interaction, one can see the work of the Chinatown Business Development Zone. This funding indicates that residents and small businesses will receive more resources.

McCourt Partners President Jordan Lang believes that the Chinatown Business Development Area has become a trusted institution for residents and businesses, integrated into the daily life of the community. Their work is in line with the goal of investing in local organizations and bringing tangible results to the community through the 'Perfect Community Fund'.

The 'Improving Community Fund' mainly supports programs across Los Angeles to enhance community inclusivity, connectivity, and resilience. This funding also allows McCourt Partners, along with Chinatown businesses such as Blossom Plaza, Far East Plaza, Golden Dragon Restaurant, and Grand Star Jazz Club, to invest in local economic development and cultural preservation.

McCourt Partners is a family owned real estate development, investment, and management company with businesses in office, hotel, residential, and mixed use development projects. This company is also involved in the planned Los Angeles air rapid transit system, intending to build a zero emission cable car connecting the city center and Dodger Stadium.
